A Big THANK YOU
Goes out to Mandy for Elliot's leftover eye patches! Knowing that Jacob and E have both gone through surgery and been so brave really warms my heart, and this feels like one more thing that ties these two. Mandy's been supportive, even while going through a pretty scary time herself. Having a child that needs to have surgery can be a very frightening experience, but she held up so well, and still was there for me when I wasn't doing so well. Thank you Mandy!

Hi, I'm Deneen!
Welcome to my blog! This is the first Blog Hop I've done.
Now to introduce myself and my family. I've been married to Eric for almost three years, and we have an almost two-year-old son who is our pride and joy, named Jacob. This is my Project 365 blog for Jacob. The plan is to put a picture up for each day of 2009, but life has thrown so much craziness at us. My son Jacob has gone in for two surgeries on his eyes and up until recently, was a regular at BC Children's Hospital. He has been transferred now to a doctor on the Island, so we're really excited. He's a very strong little boy, and we're really proud of him. To read more about his surgeries, click the "surgery" tag. For the Project 365 pics, please click the "project 365" tag.

April Rose.
This makes me SO sad
http://audreycaroline.blogspot.com/2009/06/april-rose.html
Why anyone would feel the need to perpetuate such a hoax, I will never understand. I hope, now that this is out in the open, that she might peace within herself and resolve whatever issue she has. It would be so easy to be outraged by all of this, but instead I just feel very, very sad.

Surgery
May 6
In recovery **cry**
I don't think this part of surgery gets any easier, to be honest. At this point, Jacob could barely rouse himself, and it was very frustrating for him. I remember the "hospital smell" that he had, it's one of the smells I dislike the most. My biggest plan was to get him back to the Easter Seal House, and sponge off as much of the smell as I could.

In Sickness and in Health
At his sickest. He didn't want to be awake, he didn't want to eat. He had a horrible fever, and when he wasn't boiling up, he had chills. He had green sludge pouring out of his nose, and a cough that was so bad it made him throw up, and all he threw up was mucous because he wouldn't eat.
March 13
We'd just given him his second dose of meds. Isn't the difference amazing! He slept 13 hours after the first dose of meds and it was like he was a totally different boy. No fever, no chills, no sludge. He had the cvough, and kept on coughing until he vomited. All that came up was more green sludge, but then the coughing stopped. His appetite is also back, full force.
He was still prone to "nap attacks."
March 14
His new cheese face. I have NO idea where he learned it.
